Perils Poem by Rini Shibu

Perils

Rating: 5.0

Away from the freezing cold
Away from the conifers
Arduous journey in search of warmth
Tireless flight with hope in heart
Heat and storm so harsh to survive
Awful weather dispersed them all
Twittering of birds heard no more
No trees to sway in the wind
Gurgling and splashing waters lost
Wide eyed owls fluttering around
The predators  to hunt in the dark
Cacti and bushes are only  to perch
They prick and hurt make me  cry
Wounded wings no more I can fly
Memories of home where I belong
Yearn to fly back crept inside.
