Perky Poem by JoAnn McGrath

Perky

Rating: 5.0

It was 50 years ago that
you were born to mom and dad.
Another son and blessings
to join the two they had.

They chose the name of Raymond
Named after your grand dad
They took you home with heavy hearts
It was the condition that you had.

You would wake them in the morning
with your noises that were quirky
You sounded like the percolator
gurgling, perking, 'Perky'

So the nickname stuck to you
through many, many years
It became a loving story
Held to all our hearts so dear

Happy Birthday Ray
