Phở La Vie Poem by NHIEN NGUYEN MD

Our family became loyal customers of Phở La Vie
Which is an authentic Vietnamese cuisine restaurant.
We come here usually on the weekend
But this restaurant opens all year round.

Phở La Vie has a spacious parking lot
Located near the outskirt of Harrisburg capitol.
It's easy to come here because it's near a main road.
People can come by bus or private transportation.

I like to take my wife here for our romantic date
Where soft Vietnamese music adds taste to our steaming Phở.
Phở La Vie brings back our memories of long ago past
When we began dating then married in Saigon, Vietnam.

We don't have to reserve our seats for our meals
So it's nice for me to give my wife a surprised treat.
Usually, I order the special Phở of combo beef
And my wife enjoys her Phở with tender beef tendon.

I also enjoy a glass of iced milk coffee
Which is made of dark coffee and condensed milk sweet.
My wife loves to have a glass of mango smoothie
Or, sometimes, just hot Chinese jasmine tea.

Not only we eat here but also we order dishes to go.
Many foods or drinks we can order to take home.
Sometimes, we order same dishes for next few days
Because we enjoy the flavor and taste of Phở La Vie.

We are always greeted well when we arrive.
We feel welcome with owners' friendly smiles.
We enjoy their foods and drinks many times.
We think of coming back even before saying goodbye.

PHỞ LA VIE

Tiệm Phở này gia đình tôi hay tới
Phở La Vie chuyên nấu món Việtnam.
Chúng tôi tới nơi đây những cuối tuần
Nhưng tiệm này mở cửa suốt quanh năm.

Phở La Vie có bãi xe rất rộng
Gần ngoài bìa Harrisburg thủ đô.
Phở La Vie bên trục giao thông lớn
Nên dễ tới bằng xe bus, xe hơi.

Tôi vẫn thích chở vợ tôi tới đó
Phở khói thơm, nhạc nhẹ tiếng Việtnam.
Phở La Vie nhắc nhớ những ngày xưa
Thưở bén yêu rồi cưới ở Saigon.

Nếu muốn ăn, tôi không cần hẹn trước
Nên dễ dàng đãi vợ nếu qua đây.
Tôi vẫn yêu Phở tái bò đủ thứ
Vợ tôi thì Phở tái với bò gân.

Tôi thì mê ly cà phê sữa đá
Cà phê đen pha sữa đặc có đường.
Vợ tôi thì một ly xoài sinh tố
Hoặc đôi khi bình trà nóng hoa thơm.

Không những rằng chúng tôi ăn ở tiệm
Còn mua thêm để ăn mấy ngày sau.
Đôi khi mua cùng món đang ăn tiệm
Vì chúng tôi hợp khẩu Phở La Vie.

Mỗi lần tới, chủ đón đưa niềm nở
Rất ấm lòng nhận những nụ cười tươi.
Chúng tôi thích đồ ăn và thức uống
Chưa ra về, đã nghĩ tới lần sau.
