Pretty little girl from Essex
With a charming pirate smile
Not yet knowing the truth of the world
Only seeing fun and adventurous sunny day bicycle rides
Only seeing happy and determined Primary School.
Every Saturday spent at Patricia's apartment
Watching innocent television
Having her hair gently brushed and styled
Spending the night in a comfortable bed
Waking up in the morning well rested.
Going swimming at the local leisure centre
The blue of the water inviting with its clean smell
As she swims with the other pool users
Everyone wearing vibrant and fun swimwear
From navy, yellow, red, to pinks and bright orange,
Inspiring her to take up drawing and painting:
Blending and shaping all the colours of the rainbow
Using acrylic paint to blend the three primary colours
Applying the different paint colours to the canvas like a pro
Creating scenes of sunny beaches to night women dancing.
Learning the classic guitar
Learning music theory
Learning how to find and pluck the strings
Also learning chord changes and how to sing
Creating her own music compositions onto a 90's tape.
Having good friends at school
Becoming educated for her own benefit
Destined to become one of the best
To be dramatically different to the miserable rest
Learning with her angelic soul how to love life.
Life like an exciting and scary rollercoaster
Full of dramatic ups and downs
Life an episode of Jeremy Kyle
But day-to-day life never stopping
This eventually becoming a good thing.
Where friends are made and lost
Yet some remain loyal and refuse to leave
Knowing how important they are to her
For that pretty little girl from Essex
Has grown and changed into someone better.
Where once a pirate smile enchanted
A perfect smile now faithfully enchants
For she is the better person
All because of the friendship given
And given without sacrificing anyone.
Because unselfish love is priority
Because friendship is about respect
Giving and taking sensibly
Not expecting to alienate others
Knowing of kind and intelligent boundaries.
