I'm watching too much TV, Well,
that's what my Mama said;
She frowned and switched it off,
and sadly shook her head.
"Your eyes are turning square, my child! "
She gave me quite the look,
Then with a sudden flourish,
She handed me a book.
"Awww! " I muttered to myself
"How boring this will be! "
I dumped it on my bookshelf,
(It was rather rude of me!)
I wandered down the hallway,
What on earth was I to do?
Without my TV I was lost,
And you would be lost too!
The bookshelf seem to beckon me,
I thought I'd take a look,
The cover looked quite pretty,
so I opened up the book...
I was all about a pirate
who sailed to foreign lands;
in a mighty wooden ship
that he built with his own hands!
"Oh well! " I thought "Let's have a read,
I have some time to spare"
I made myself quite comfortable,
and began to read right there.
Mama called me twice for lunch,
but I could not put it down,
for the pirate had just landed,
in a diamond studded town!
I was utterly mesmerised,
All through that day I read!
I am hooked to books for they are like...
a TV in my head!
Very interesting. It shows that it is not proper to form a judgement without going into the details. Children would like it. Thanks.
