Pondering Life Poem by Heather Wilkins

Pondering Life

Rating: 4.7

As I ponder life without
you
I cannot comprehend
the picture.
Without you, tomorrow
would not exist.

A shard forever lost
wandering the streets
of life
forever alone.

A lover deep in thought... the word shard somehow really expresses the depth of pain. Beautifully written

I cannot comprehend the picture. Without you, tomorrow would not exist.- - - -there is such unbelievable pain in this poem that it is frightening to think we shall feel these things as we lose our loved ones

Sometimes a shard breaks away from us and the loss is irreparable pushing us to despondency. But let me here hope that every cloud has its silver lining. Thanks for sharing it on PH.

You've captured how so many people must feel when they lose a close companion. It would be lovely to hear of the shard noticing light reflecting off a similarly lonely shard, and each looking through the other to once again take pleasure in seeing the world.
