Popular Uprisings Versus The I Phone Poem by Raj Dronamraju

Popular Uprisings Versus The I Phone

Did you stand with them or did you stand with us?
If only he'd brought his lunch today, he would not have had to go outside and get his head beat in by ideas he would rather not have had to face

Did you click on us or did you scroll by?
Responsibility is not enticing clickbait
She is not naked but she might ask something from you anyway

Features include erasing any originality that exists in your system
Erase it!I was kind of happy when the antibodies wiped out the last trace of my individuality

Features include hands free (makes a rude noise)
Satellites are consulted and invoked as if divine
The I-Phone slips easily into a body cavity

Features include streaming movies, playing music, watching your life sail past
While others take to the streets
They rejected what you were offered and what you took
