Portrayed As A Maverick Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Portrayed As A Maverick

Remember the days when being portrayed,
As a maverick...
Had offended those 'normal',
Who then considered themselves conformists.

And today there are more than ever before,
Joining the ranks of those clearly insane.
Daring to proclaim they are entitled...
To follow and uphold a way of life that is crazed!

And those 'abnormal' with dysfunctions known,
Have proven what they value with standards attached...
Are living with a peace of mind,
And choosing to remain detached...
From those who have lost their minds to never get back!

A great poem, and you make a good point. May I invite you to read my poem called, For Bartley Gormam King Of The Gypsies.
