Prejudice Rising Poem by Richard Wlodarski

Prejudice Rising

'Hey, did you hear the one
About the the stupid...? '

Many variations on this theme
Each one a blow to the smarter mind
And an arrow to the loving heart
Crowning a lifetime of bullying

The butt of so many jokes
At first made me very weak
Inferiority complex
Was truly such a damn bummer

The girls believed that I was dumb
Thought they had me under their thumb
Creative writing was my game
That left them in such dismal shame

The guys thought I was a dumb Polack
Took me for many a bully walk
Finally, I stopped their walk and talk
Poetic justice from smart Polack
