Prince Poem by Holly Jamestone

Prince

I’ve been kissed 6,457 times
Proposed to more times than my
Smorgasbord of flies and mosquitos can count
Toasted at sunset, martinis in reptilian hand
And lied to more than my mother would approve of

I’ve been adored, then dropped like a hot potato
Been taken under the paw of a cougar
Who put me up in a penthouse lily pad
And bought me Cuban cigars
All the while waiting for her ship to come in or
Something she muttered under her breath
That
Sounded
Like
“Prince”

Full well knowing that I have kissed my share of frogs, still in search of Prince....I listen for the far off croaking, dare I believe he is about to appear? ? ? Your poem, at first thought whimsical, upon second glance, it's depth revealed. Keep on keeping on, sista! ! Well applauded, in PEACE
