Promises Of A Failure Poem by Elisha De La Rosa

Promises Of A Failure

Words from the one who quickly fades
Are spoken from a smokey haze
Silence will always remain
Promises in my heart, will always stay

Quickly when the sun sinks into earth
The shadow of a man's birth
Seems to disappear
A failure's word, is not what trust is worth

He tells me
To be the man I am suppose to be
Yet, promises of a failure, is what it seems
I wonder how many lies a failure can bleed?

Breaking words are tainted
How many times they have gone wicked?
He is falling down
His promises are buried underground

A man with no shadow
Has words that are hallow
How many promises have he broken
Promises of a failure I have taken
