Proof Or Evidence Of Facts Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Proof Or Evidence Of Facts

I have often HEARD,
From others between them said...
Who had did what for 'who'.
Not to witness at all.
Yet whispered to rumor,
Were believed to spread.

Very few that I have ever met,
Living to achieve...
Their wants and wishes.
And dreams to get.
I knew to witness,
No time did they spend...
Listening to rumors lied,
Applied to their achieved success.

And yet...
Those with nothing more to do,
Sat to gossip claiming they knew...
Who did what and when for 'who'.
Without proof of evidence.
Or facts of the truth.
Anywhere produced.

Although will say,
'They swear on a stack of Bibles'.
And remain to claim,
What it is 'God knows they know'.
To tell but not show,
Proof to back them up.
Yet...
Will create their own facts.
In the hope to have them believed!
