Pt 3 - Drenched Again Poem by Jane Sparkes

Pt 3 - Drenched Again

Drenched again from emotions wasted and paths washed away by footsteps ill trodden.
Tomorrows will come come by then be past this stifling fog and the torrid weight of regret.
Wonder, full of longing no more as glistening lenses see through roads unlit into lightness. Dare to fly again, set free torn plans, scarred nerves and died loves.
To see me find in a different place the face you never expected.
Changed to a stranger, grown away, let go and for what?
Say farewell and did onto further planes of expectation finding unfamiliar and freshness quickly soured.
Yes, come find me in a different place, familiar strangely illuminated sensations unknown as feathers on glass.
Tread lightly less we wake to zones of indifference
Speak softly with tones to drown greyness and shade of clarity where idols ruined now ruined to pale.
Shifting stillness, an unending dullness, find no fire through the clarity of despair within the void.
Missing oblivion of hope fueled fantasy gone for what?
Who tells the bird to fly free only the caged, but the warm and the safe.
