Purgatory Poem by wardha jawdat

Purgatory

Rating: 2.7

Today after an age
I saw daybreak
The dawn being born….
Like a butterfly
Bursting through the
Closed fist of dark’s cocoon.

The sun’s first fragile rays
Like the unfurling wispy wings of
The colorful Admiral,
Battling with the oblivion
Of a sleepy horizon’s
Ambiguity

Ache surrendered to
Catharsis
As I watched the demise of Night
Awed at the wisdom of
This age old ritual
Of naissance.

It was as though
I witnessed
The auntumn
Of all my ails
In this magnificent confessional
Of Daybreak
