Purity - Poem by Sheena Datta

How naive it is to pin one's hope
on the shadows tears and smiles
which dissolve
promises expectations trust
and breath which break
a heart
which houses in our body to revere another
a life which is lived losing the self
shred by shred
we seek so much
that nothing remains
what is sought so fervently though
lies within us all the time
which is ours for good
our pure and untouched soul
