Purple Butterfly Poem by Richard Wlodarski

Purple Butterfly

Rating: 5.0

She was the dancing queen

The Caribbean queen
Dancing us through the night

With Elvis' moves out of sight

On board the long ships

And the short ships

She shared our friendship

Made us a little hip

A gift from God taking steps

Instead of elevator

A free spirit

Purple butterfly

Cleaning our ears out

With her outspokenness

Eyes like pizza pies

Heart of solid gold

She lived in our heart

So she lives forever

Dancing in heaven

Making angels laugh

And Jesus smile

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
When God created Karen, the mold was broken. In spite of having lived a tragic life, she maintained a positive attitude to the very end. In my mind's eye, I can see her laughing and dancing with the angels. And making Jesus smile.
