Purple Rain Poem by Juan Olivarez

Purple Rain

Rating: 5.0

I walked on a royal carpet today
From the steps on my backdoor
Clear through all the potted plants
All brimming with purple bells
A long walk, all the way
To the back of the nursery
A royal carpet of purple and lavender bells
Purple bells raining from the blue sky above
Purple bells blown all over creation
by the south wind.
The Jacaranda is in bloom
From the bustop
Where I drop off my grandson
I can see the purple cloud
Swaying in the breeze
Silhouetted against the blue sky
Raining on my house
In the street
On my nursery
Creating a royal carpet
The purple rain.

May these purple days forever so linger And you find more of them in days to come In the grasp of your grandsons little finger May you always find pure love and warmth of the sun.... Excellent write Sir....Keep ur pen busy

A nice poem, delicately wrought. The fashionable omission of punctuation from the ends of the lines is unhelpful, in my opinion.
