Puzzle Poem by Herbert Nehrlich

A paperclip
went on a trip
it had remained
and been retained
inside a bunch of documents.
It did enjoy
though not a toy
the sights and sounds
and grassy grounds
of this strange world
when it was hurled
into the sky
the question why
did not occur
it was a blur
but nonetheless
as you can guess
it went astray
and to this day
it is a riddle
I'm in the middle.

The puzzle of the paperclip
it's something that I mean to skip.
