*rain

Rating: 2.6

A salty mist swirls around us,
Landing on our skin,
And tangling in our hair
As we sit on the golden sand,
And listen:

Listen to the seagulls’ music soaring through the air,
Listen to the night’s magic always drawing near,
Listen to the calm water lapping at the shore,
Listen to the enchanted breeze always trying to lure.

But then all of the sudden, the seagulls’ cries are gone,
The gentle breeze has turned to gusts,
And rain starts spattering down.

The peaceful waves have turned with deadly passion,
Into monsters meant to consume,
As the rain drenches our windblown hair,
And penetrates our heated skin, making it cool.

How wonderful it feels,
To be washed by this innocent rain,
As lightening dances overhead-
Flashes of power, brilliance, beauty;
Something nothing in this world can contain,
And the thunder rocks through the heavens,
Making the ground vibrate,
Making it sing.

Our eyes meet, and I can’t help laughing,
Such joy and wonder it brings,
To share this fantastical moment with you,
I hope it teaches you to love the rain.

People cover their heads when it rains, but I usually bathe in the rain because I love it.
