A-ffair of the birthday
N-ever shall be sad and lonely;
T-he rapture and pleasure
H-ave brought much ecstasy.
O-pen your life to gladness,
N-ot to the ache and sorrow;
Y-our eyes wear the sparkle, the sweet smile and glow.

A-ffair of the joyful birth
L-ets the pain fade away;
C-lose the door to pressure,
A-ugust thirty-first day.
N-ight cold chill has turned
T-o a warm blowing air;
A-nother moment of mirth,
R-apture of the birthday
