Real Life Monsters Poem by s.zaynab kamoonpury

Real Life Monsters

Rating: 5.0

There might not exist any terrible trolls
but the Loch Ness monster might lurk for real!

There might be no real malicious monsters
but you might one day run into the Abominable snowman!

There mightn't be any real zombies
but there's truly a menace of wicked witches.

There might be no dreadful dragons
but that Big Foot might just wreck your wagons!
And beware there do exist comodo dragons

There might be no villainous vampires
but blood-sucking vermins breed in quagmires

Besides satan there mightn't be other devilish demons
but there just might exist the jinns or djinns!

There might be no horrible ogres
But roaming spirits might be floating unawares

There mightn't be real life draculas and goblins
but satan the devil surely does exist

Nobody's seen any gorgons or gnomes
but many claim to have seem fearsome phantoms.

And watch out too
for UFOs', and flying saucers
you could be abducted
by martians and aliens

As a teen there always seemed to lurk in my dread
A monster that I made sure didn't ambush under my bed
Thank God that was only in my head.

But don't you completely rule out the yeti
nor mock and laugh off ol' nessie!

Some of the monsters on the list
to-date might really truly exist

But the real life worst monster of all
the monster of devilish evil that tops this list and does exist
is whoever commits a genocide
of babies, women and children.
Israel and its allies come first to mind
and even for committing apartheid

I would say '...Martians and other aliens', Martians being (possible?) inhabitants of the planet Mars. ;) bri

No 'real monster' is a gnome. a legendary dwarfish creature supposed to guard the earth's treasures underground. a small garden ornament in the form of a bearded man with a pointed hat. INFORMAL a small ugly person. 'a grizzled gnome of a man'

Gorgon: 'GREEK MYTHOLOGY each of three sisters, Stheno, Euryale, and Medusa, with snakes for hair, who had the power to turn anyone who looked at them to stone.' I THINK MY 2ND wife was a Gorgon, the 4th sister.

Power and conquest clearly make humans into true Monsters, see my poem: Wrapped In Abundance

A reminder that we need not look beyond the mirror to find the monster. This is an amazing verse!

I give ***** five stars. There are, I'm sure, many in my country, the U.S. of A., not a perfect country of course [are there any? ] who take no sides in the current over-borders fighting, and many who take one or the other side, and many who don't give a . : (

Last stanza: I had an idea that you were leading up to the present conflict in and around Israel. I would end without mentioning apartheid OR reword the stanza or put apartheid into a separate stanza. Or lump all racism/discrimination together in one stanza before your 'Israel' stanza.

(continued) 's', Are you SURE nothing was under your bed? ! ! I thought I saw a 3-eyed, fork-tongued, and DROOLING thing when I peeked through your window one night. : )))
