Rebuilding Ukraine Poem by Denys E. W. Jones

Rebuilding Ukraine

Rating: 5.0

Sooner or later the conflict will end,
Ukraine will join the EU.
Some sort of Marshall Plan will emerge
To build this wrecked country anew.

Cash will be splashed to construct roads,
Hospitals, bridges, schools.
But money or love will not bring back the lives
Lost in this war so cruel.

Who will remarry the widows?
Who will take care of the waifs?
Who will dispel the dark shadows
Cast over a land that's been raped?

NOW its own dear inhabitants live in a barren bombed city, no longer a city to be called, my heart broke when I saw the inhabitants flee to the nearest neighbouring country, rebuilding? That fool is still there! Greedy is the first word that comes to mind

Russia? It is a madman's greed to own a rich country, where the head is not corrupt. You created an amazing poem,5 Stars full Score
