RECALLING THE PAST
I recall my childhood as fairytale,
As sweet music in its chime.
My boyish pastime shining pale -
The dreaming glow of a distant time.
But where did that childhood go?
The dream is gone, and mom was gone!
But memory's the last resort, though -
Childhood moment helped me return.

i loved my childhood, but i'm not sure i realized it until decades later. things started to go 'down hill' once i had homework to do for school. ; ( i would return to it (childhood, not homework) if i were guaranteed i'd never outgrow it. some might say now that i never did outgrow it. bri :)
some may read your responses to my comment and think i'm REALLY a bad boy! ! ! : ((((((((((((((((( bri
" Childhood moment helped me return." & (from Poet's Notes) " Flooded memories" let me guess: i CAN put one and one together and get THREE. You wet your bed again, didn't you? well, you ARE 80 years old, after all. I won't tell (too many people) . to MyPoemList bri :))))))
As far as I can tell, you didn't like the poem and resented it. I can put two and two together and get five. Yes, I am over eighty years old. But that doesn't mean you can write about me and measure me in your way. My years are my wealth, my friend in need.
