Recapturing Joy Poem by Jim Yerman

Recapturing Joy

Yesterday I watched some children run...full speed...off to the races.
I saw innocence in their hearts...and joy upon their faces.

And I wondered if I could recapture that same innocence and joy...
So I took off...running...as fast as I could...like when I was just a boy.

I may not have been as graceful...or kept up as fast a pace...
But this morning...as I rub my aching muscles...there is joy upon my face.
