Recovery? Poem by Darwin Henry Beuning

Recovery?

Rating: 4.3

A week to the day
Since my operation
'Still on Meds'
Seems to me
My poetry is dead

The medication,
Has me seeing stars
I can't seem to add
'Two and Two'

Bits and pieces of poetry
Dance through my head
But, when I put them to paper
They don't seem to rhyme
All I run into is
'Dead Ends'

You will recover. Medications play tricks with our minds. I'm not taking as many meds as most people my age, but I feel writer's block most of the time anyway. In my case, I guess it's just the age. period.

I liked this poem a lot, the aspect of writers block during recovery, get well soon and keep writing

A very good poem, the mind paints poems the hand cannot. Good luck with your recovery
