Red Moon Poem by Amitava Sur

Red Moon

Rating: 4.9

The moon in this moonlit night,
Is looking so aggressive and agile
Possibly it shows it’s anger
Towards our weird selfish being.
Silvery moon has turned red
Being so angry and futile.
It alleges about the lost love
Being filled with ugly voluptuousness,
Desiring women’s flesh only! !
True love is scantily found
With so many greedy human beings! !

Being so annoyed and dejected with us
Silvery moon is staring at us
With it’s angry red face.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
As I am informed that in this moonlit night today, the moon will be looking bigger and red. Looking to the moon what I felt, that is what I pictured in this poem. I expect your valued comments on it.

Man with his greed is asking for his doom. Red Moon might be a portent. Your poem captures the grimness of the situation so well.

For past three four days I have been seeing this color of moon in early hours of its rising. Your thoughts are so appropriate and connected with the situations that we see. I won't blame Gods for being angry with us. Thanks for sharing this beautiful poem. Also thank you so much for your comments on my poems.

You gave a philosophical interpretation of moon turning red. I hope the moon turning red does not turn people violent.

Whatever phenomenon behind it, only a poet can make it a life event. Nice imagery.
