Regicide

Out of respect,
when axes, two-handled saws
and ropes were plied,
an executed giant
wasn't 'cut down';
it was 'thrown'.

Once upon the time
when those tools were plied,
multiplied respect was shown
by marking with a crown,
or a Christian
instead of a two-footed cross,
that giant to come down.
