Relatable Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Relatable

Is it your purpose to remain indifferent.
Thinking it an incentive and reason,
To participate with others...
In decisive divisions supporting conflicts.
Done as if you will be offered,
A lifetime membership for your assistance.
Is this your purpose?

Is it,
Your purpose.
To seek a quality of life.
Knowing with others who too want this,
Are doing this to wish to have...
Day and night and sacrificing delusions,
To ensure they treat others...
As they wish to be treated.
Without demanding it to know what's right.
Is it your purpose,
To be accessable and relatable...
For the many fed up on pretensions to feed.
To know imitations seldom nourish mentalities.

Is it your purpose to ignore,
Those taxes that are raised...
To evade promises made.
Are paid to chase from you and others,
A reality away to support the undoing...
Of a truth.
To accept and believe it will be you,
Who ultimately benefits.
As more crooks dressed in tailored suits,
Tell you what you want to hear.
Knowing delusions produced is your preference.
Is it your purpose to stay seduced?
Look around.
Divorce from choices to climb a high horse.
Get off.
Then evaluate your purpose.
What and who does it serve?
You, your neighbors, relatives and friends?
Look around.
How and in which way,
Is your purpose relatable.
