Poetry Against Terror
is an artistic protest
a poetic protest
this is not an Arab Spring
this is a Poetic Spring
poets drinking deep
from wells of wisdom
gifting phrase peace
happiness to all people
peace be among all people
terror is
a contemporary
tragedy
a peace protest
must be written
marched sung
into world psyche
beautified choice
to live free of fear
is an easier option
for free spirit poets
than various sections
of public terrorized
minds media preyed
upon public paralyzed
with fear splattered
mass media images
therefore the decision
to refuse fear renounce fear;
to accept the cards
will fall as cards may
is accepting life
as it comes;
it is not the duration
years in our lives
which time matter
it is the quality;
intensity attempts
at living dreams
which determines;
how birth bright
our pulse stars shine
on satin darkest nights;
even a single star
shining on an overcast
night shines hope bright...
Poetry Against Terror
is a first waking single star
a large collective work
poetic voices of poets
raised chanting peace
refusing renouncing fear
originating from different
countries scattered worldwide
who will stand up
who will speak aloud
who will promote peace
but without hatred
without hatred against
pitiful bloody madness terror
terror
terrorized
Poetry Against Terror
64 Poets from 43 countries
lent their pens spent their time
in the effort to defuse terror
to nullify terrorist power
in peace to stand against terror
in love to stand against terror
to spread instead blessings of peace
to embrace peace love hope for all humanity...

'we—poets of the world—wish
to make our voices resonate
in the minds and hearts
of all women and men
who refuse to be silenced
by hate and violence.'

I like the way this series of poems came together, the gift Hemingway spoke of when a theme writes itself, with the strength in an ending written by another artist sharing similar sentiments.
'we—poets of the world—wish to make our voices resonate in the minds and hearts of all women and men who refuse to be silenced by hate and violence.' dear Terry, it's a honor to be mentioned in your write! thanks
