Remembering Me Poem by Randy McClave

Remembering Me

Someday you will remember me
And in that moment it will bring you glee,
It will bring a smile upon your face
And once again your heart will race.
You will remember the times of us together
And how we held tightly onto each other,
You'll remember the good times and not the sad
And the things that you and I once had.
You will remember the things that I done for you
And how I always stayed so true,
Then you'll remember calling me the best of men
Then you will sport your grin.
You will then remember me always at your side
And how unto my family and friends you were never denied,
How I proudly and always showed you about
And how I screamed, "I love you", with a shout.
You will remember how I gave you everything
My soul, love, clothes, even a plastic ring,
You even had a roof over your head
So, in your life their would be no worries or dread.
Then you will have those other thoughts
As the time you drew lots,
How you used and how you also broke promises and stole
And then how you lost your very soul.
You will then remember when you had cheated
And how you lied and mistreated,
Then you'll feel lonely and guilty to the highest degree
In that someday, when you remember me.
