Remembering Mom On Mother’s Day Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Remembering Mom On Mother’s Day

Rating: 5.0

As a very young child… you steadied me upon my feet
You let go and beckoned with open arms beyond my touch
Encouraging me to succeeded…making my journey complete
Step by step, I toddled to your praise… you gave so much

As I grew I tried your patience… your voice was never raised
I knew when I did something wrong… deserving consequence
You could convey a message clear and strong with a gaze
I expected to be reprimanded and respectfully did my penance

Your unconditional love was given with undivided attention
Even when miles parted us… we stayed instinctively bonded
Our thoughts traveled on a two way street with a connection
Often my unspoken words communicated and you responded

I became mother myself… and my respect for you increased
Understanding that challenges were not trouble-free
You were there to give support… my anxieties decreased
When I lost my way you cleared the fog… enabling me see

Today you are beyond my grasp… your love is in my heart
I stand as a testament to your gentle ways of teaching
I am thankful for your blessings… they shall not depart
To your caring arms my treasured memories are reaching
