Remembering You Sharbari - 01 Poem by Subhas Chandra Chakra

Remembering You Sharbari - 01

Rating: 5.0

At this hour of my night
all of a sudden
You knocked mild
on the door of my heart
while I was all alone,
alone with me
and my poems within
deep within my heart
with a surge of emotions
like the tide
on the full moon,

I was in a state
of a ship, submerged
beneath the sea of thoughts.

You knocked again,
This time a bit louder.

My heart lost
a beat or two,
Bewildered with my
Mind indecisive and perplexed
and thedenial mode
within, not to allow
anyone to pervade
into the sands of my soul
at this juncture,
I tried
to listen to my heart.
It smiled mild,
As if a nod
to the question
Taunting me.

And I opened the door.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is an ode to a beautiful book read by me, which beautified all my dreams in the days of my adolescence. Sharvari, a book by Kanhu Charan Mohanty, as I remember was that lovely book.
In the few poems subsequent I would like to describe the deep impact that at times affect or influence teenagers or the adolescents which may be derived from a book.

How a book can influence your thoughts can be seen in this beautiful poem, Remembering you Sharbari. I am going to read the continuation to comprehend the deep impact that touched a teenager's mind.
