Remembering You Sharbari - 02 Poem by Subhas Chandra Chakra

Remembering You Sharbari - 02

Rating: 5.0

In came she,

Sharvari, the lovely

The beautiful,
the lady of the world
of time,
of the universe,
of space,
of the timeless progeny
that made all the world so beautiful,
so pragmatic
with shapes and forms,
with dirt and foam,
with desires and dreams,
Night,
the queen of all desires.

The night
that paved the way to
progeny and procreation.

She made the world full.
Full of beings,
Full of dreams,
Full of desires,
Full of moonshine and
A craving in the buds
to bloom
The next morn.

And it was the night-
never sought by
the first couple
Adam and Eve
before they consumed
the forbidden fruit.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is an ode to a beautiful book read by me, which beautified all my dreams in the days of my adolescence. Sharvari, a book by Kanhu Charan Mohanty, as I remember was that lovely book.
In the few poems subsequent I would like to describe the deep impact that at times affect or influence teenagers or the adolescents which may be derived from a book.

Kanhu Charan Mohanty, or simply known as Kanhu Charan was a great writer and novelist from Odisha whose novels captured the imaginations of readers of Odisha. Though I have read many of his novels like Ha Anna, Kaa, Uddandi, I have not read this particular novel.I must say he popularized novel reading in Odisha because of his classic style.A wonderful tribute to the writer from Odisha.
