Repentence Poem by RAJ NANDY

Repentence

REPENTENCE

A true confession from the heart,
May lighten the mind and unburden the
soul;
But I wonder if at all it absolves, or mitigates
those deeds left unperformed!
For no two rights can undo a wrong, - once it
has been performed;
Since forgiveness can only be granted by those, -
Who had been really wronged!
How can I wake up the past, or reciprocate
those I had failed to love?
Since all my remorse, regrets and laments, -
Can never reach the world of the dead!
So I must spend my remaining life, suffering
the conscience pricks of the mind!
Carrying my cross till the end, wondering how
should I repent? !
But if there is an after life, I may get a chance
to unburden my mind!
But should it be a total extinction, bringing all
things to an end,
There will be nothing left to repent!

emotional poem. the only way to get over guilt and repentance is to forgive yourself. i felt like this when i lost my parents. you are a practitioner of Zen, we have to treat ourselves with loving kindness.
