Let there be sunshine in your eyes always
let there be moonlight over you through the darkness,
let there be brotherhood in your heart as you keep walking
let there be gracefulness in your mind as you keep waking;
let there be generosity in your deeds and actions
let there be love in your days of existence
let there be fraternity in the neighborhood you live in.

Let there be strength in your faith always
let there be sanctity in your worship and devotion
let there be true dedication and adherence to your religion
let there be humanity in you towards others.

Let there be India in your bloodstream
let there be India in your voice and vision
let there be India in your pulse beats
let there be India in the rhythm of your heart
let there be pride that you are an Indian
let there be an echo when you whisper "I love my country"

Let there be solidarity in your character
let there be Indian attitude and gentleness in your behavior
let there be heritage and heredity of your Indian forefathers
let there be songs, dances, folklore and music in your culture
let there be respect for your past traditions and customs
let there be tolerance and kindness in your nature
let there be appreciation for all that your country blesses you with.

Let there be many people rich or poor in our country
but let there be many fields and farmers;
let there be many harvests and surplus food for our population
but let there be none who will go to bed famished;
let there be many children who will go to school
but let there be education and the educated;
let there be prosperity or poverty in your country
but let there be no hunger and unemployment.

Let there be various faiths and religions in our country
but let there also be reverence for secularism;
let there be many agreements and disagreements
but let there also be wonder of peace and understanding;
let us feel enthusiastic that India belongs to every Indian
but let us also feel glorious that we belong to a democratic republic India.
