man was created
for responsible task
to care for the lush garden
the original mandate
of an infallible God

options were given
freedom to choose—
between right from the wrong
veracity against immorality
goodness or wickedness

human fate was sealed
as sin enters the world
because of disobedience
but a promise was given
for a future deliverance

this came to past
when a messiah was born
in a small town of Bethlehem
during the Roman occupation
of the battle-weary Israel

a fulfillment at last
of an everlasting covenant
between the great fathers of faith—
the Jews, Christians and Muslims
claimed to be one but alienated

only with a genuine relationship
is possible through a supreme God
to restore the broken relationship
between the creator and his creation
in the person of his only son Jesus
