Reunions Two Thru Six Poem by Bill Galvin

Reunions Two Thru Six

A special share of Deb’s beautiful locks
Are presented inside a necklace pendant,
Accompanied by dried red rose petals
From her casket arrangement.

We all belong to a Private Circle…
I have nominated and chartered you
Into a limited membership organization…
Six members only…
A society with only one obligation…
To keep close in heart and mind, forever,
A most cherished and angelic loved one…
One whom you personally did so much for,
And cared so much for during her years
Of need and discomfort,

No others need apply.

You all stand out for your love, understanding,
Generosity, courage, and commitment.
I discussed this with Deb before she passed…
She agreed wholeheartedly.

In the order of presentation:

Deb’s sister Dorothy… March 4,2015… Bellingham, MA
Her sister-in-law, my sister, Deb… March 5… Medfield, MA
Her brother Paul… March 17… Port St. Joe, FL
Her cousin Balinda… March 22… Mineola, TX
Her sister Denise… April 11… Sonoma, CA

I need not list the details
Of the kindnesses you all displayed.
All who were close to Deb from beginning to end
Know of each other’s contributions,
A lot of which you coordinated with each other.
And thanks also go out to your spouses
And other family members who supported you
And, therefore, us, during this journey.

Deb and I present this gift with tremendous gratitude.

It helped us both so much… so very much.

Rest in Peace, Dear Deborah, you are with us always.
