You are the night,
The glamorous night that
Gave me birth in its lap;
There was no echo
No unusual movements
Of thighs and underbelly,
When I fell with a thud;
You are the night,
The hours of nothingness,
As I opened eyes to look
At a face of lonely motherhood
You stuffed soft nipples
In to my mouth;
You are the night,
Melody of romance and love.
