Ridin' Down Vodun Avenue Poem by Cherokee Akan Ewe

Ridin' Down Vodun Avenue

we great people who live traditionally
minding nobody else business
making altars way before a written
will still got languages which is unintelligible to the average copycat and wannabe translator
and we keep laughing indeed
although we garden and farm
to keep frum using Petty Cash
that's what we get when we sow
i ain't worried about a gee oh dee
cause dem letters
just like me
can't put a label on invisibility
though dem theys try though
and fools follow em from sunup to sun rotating....

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
it is a curse knowing yourself cause people wanna follow in search for they answers yet they have prophet to tend too and put forth more effort in idoling me and if they say that's a wild imagination then just trace back their what? 24hours and break it down into 3 eights and see...and you too challenge your whereabouts and see if people see you as a savior....cause i ain't trying to as i have responsibilities but i guess they don't though and they don't matter on my scales of positives or neither negative....
