Right Smack In The Middle - Poem by Sonny Rainshine

It was kind of funny at first.
Barely March and a bird
sat in the middle of a pot of begonias
I had set out on a warm day.

Right in the middle.

He, like me
could not wait for
the Edenic promise of summer.
He wanted his paradise now and
he would have it.

Maybe heaven
is sitting in a pot of flowers.
