Riverbed Clatters



all gravel now, dusting
broken bottles, gears
all over stabbing ground
not long ago fishes saw
propellers ply this depths
and faces of passengers

now dry as desert sand
beneath multitudes, snails
some still alive burrowing
water didn't decide to leave
it was diverted to farms
to fill our tables with fresh...
