Role Models Poem by Dawn Novus

Role Models

I can hear a couple just outside my door
Just chit chatting about their business as a couple
They have been married twenty years or more
I wiped tears away just now.
Such profound respect, amiable they are to each other. Such deep and true love.
As a poet I am guilty of indulging in
words of whims of love and lust and fancy.
Sometimes, overhearing a couple chit chatting about couple stuff
And after twenty odd years
He is still her king and she is still his queen, well, they are true love role models

wanting to read another poem of yours but feeling the need to get on with my day, i happened to choose this one. different things come to mind. first, i honor what you honor here, loza. then, my wife and i having just passed our forty-second anniversary, i think of what i've answered honestly but briefly to the secret of our marital longevity- grace. on the positive aspects of marriage, you might enjoy my poems, when i should be working and island chain. -glen
