Romance with democracy, banishment of poverty
For upliftment of the poor divising schemes motley
Culminate in removing the poor in reality,
Though the slogan coined may mislead in posterity.

Houses for houseless is one such popular slogan
Huge schemes are charted for it in public domain.
Benefit to lakhs of poor is the schemes projection
It may fulfill though builder lobbys aspirations.

Politics is the last resort of goons was a tested dictum
Promotor/ developer/builder has acquired that position.
Their rule now extends over goons and politicians,
No body can even guess the grabbed lands quantum.

The modus operendi of such followers of democracy
Has left the democratic norms, values chilled and icy.
