Romeo To The Stars (Song) Poem by Mark Heathcote

Romeo To The Stars (Song)

He's a Romeo to the stars.
They them that never knew what it was to have fun?
Salivated from their tongue
He would walk like he owned all of heaven.
And if they followed, it'd be exciting.
To have a part-share in Hollywood.

He's a Romeo to the stars.
In my eyes, he could fly me to the moon when I closed my eyes.
He's like a reality release on speed. A diary entry in my dreams
And when he's beneath my sheets, my soul
It's like slipping on a dress and then letting it drop.

Oh, he's a Romeo on the side of angels.
If I'm a good girl,
I'm a ballet dancer let out of her pearl musical box.
Learning to twirl without any weight
He'll fly me beyond the sun and moon, the stars.

He breaks all the stereotypes.
He's revving up my engine and my heart.
And later, when I sigh and cool when it gets dark
I wonder why he's not also ready to act awful.
Audition for a B-movie and wants only me.

He's a Romeo to the stars, but not with me.
He's just old news that doesn't tarnish, I guess.
Guess-I'm-his Marilyn Monroe.
That's why he doesn't pull the panic chord.
And only want's me, not the sound of cheap violins.
I guess that's why I salivate, also.
