Room Poem by Nika McGuin

Room

Rating: 2.8

Heavy room this be
I'd heard stories about it
what I should say once inside
known about it for over a week
once my foot enters the threshold though,
I am hit by the sheer force of reality
the realization of what this room
means and is overwhelms me

The door slams shut behind me
this room is filled with history
and stories of woe
they swarm around me now
pushing at my flesh
weighing me down
its terrifying, this room
so tiny, yet so full of doom
