Ropes Will Turn To Gold (Revised) - Poem by Heather Burns

Oh friend!

Last night while searching
the canyons of my mind

once again expecting
you to play double dutch

two small children
together laughing telling
secrets

I always allowed you to
jump first

as in the days of yore

remaining behind to make
adjustments

someday these ropes will
turn to gold.
