Sail Poem by Jennifer Taylor

Sail

Rating: 3.5

One whole
beautiful year
I stare out
over this city of mine
sipping my favorite red
feeling time build a new path
for my heart
to wander down
My home
so far from yours
My world on the fringe of
possibility
delicate invisible threads
dancing freely in dreams
of the ridiculously romantic
I watch us dwindle
lost gone
I long for inspiration

hope

the fragments of which gave me
purpose
a fleeting idealism
You sing to me of wants
always in the hypothetical
and I stumble faith
my pragmatic mind
compelling my heart to reason
leaving me to contemplate
your season
and I sail
sail
to a discovered unknown
and though
I will not turn
you are right behind me
for awhile
I see
feel you close
in me
and only as I sleep
do I give way
to the irrational impossible
and I smile.

This is a wonderful poem, liked it very much. 'feeling time build a new path for my heart to wander down My home so far from yours' - Oh! What a nice feeling! 'and only as I sleep do I give way to the irrational impossible and I smile.' - So beautifully said!
