Saintly Gerard And The Birds Poem by Richard Wlodarski

Saintly Gerard And The Birds

Rating: 5.0

Bread crumbs in hand
Heart full of love
Tears in eyes
He feeds the birds

Can't understand why
God's songbirds won't come
To the hand from God
Heart now so broken

Saintly tears seen by God
Multi raindrops now fallin'
Onto poor Gerard's soft head
Jesus takes an interest

A great addition to the series, Richard. I can't think of the title of Kerouac's poem, but it's the one in which he notes the bird sings at night...just before the dawn. Both you and Kerouac remind me of the expression....'darkest before the dawn.' Well done, Richard.

Truly invaluable feedback, M. J. The different bits of info that you're providing will greatly assist me with my research. Please let me know if you remember the title. Thank you for recognizing 'darkest before the dawn'. I'm striving to capture different aspects of Kerouac's personality. And this one is huge! Thanks again!
