Those beautiful sanpaku eyes, they peered at the world,
Not knowing the perils that spud from them;
Floating irises, three whites,
That girl, she wore them like a diadem.
Those beautiful sanpaku eyes, looked blank,
As one ornate empty bottle;
Lack-lustre, benumb, melancholic humdrum,
They were shades of brown mottled.
Those beautiful sanpaku eyes, perceived the worldly ways,
With sloth and sleuth meld;
Dismayed at the travesty of mankind,
Sordid secrets they held.
Those beautiful sanpaku eyes, played with hearts unaware,
Of lovers that sought a retreat unknown;
Make believe the love they held in them,
Till tedium they exhaled and bemoaned.
Those beautiful sanpaku eyes, frigid and stoned,
Old and weary in their youth;
Revealed the least when they stared,
Disquieting the uncouth.
Those beautiful sanpaku eyes, never budged once,
At any glare, determined they looked,
Indiscernible sanpaku eyes,
Lived a life they had to brook.
