Sapporo Poem by Elena Sandu

Sapporo

North part of Japan

A beautiful place
that almost half a year
looks beautiful
feels pure
with its white clad,
not very cold
nor very warm,
just right!

Its spring too short,
I always miss
The sight of
of gentle snowdrops
or purple lilac
but never miss
Sakura bloom
and, my fave
the pear trees!

Long winters
giving plenty of rest
to our dear earth
and in exchange
will give us
most delicious treats
yummy vegetables
and delicious fruits,
my favorite not only
for the taste but
for their beauty,
cherries!
Those little red spots
on the fond of green
shining in harmony
with sky's summer blue
especially
after the darken clouds
are still adorned
with tinseled
drops of rain.
Colors of autumn,
to brighten any soul
artists cry jealous,
in great hurry to bring out
their tools!

There is more
to the beauty
of the place I live
mountains and rivers,
the seas and loving forest
would bring me smiles with
the whispered songs
of pine trees
and silver birch
touching my soul
blessing my house
through the open
windows or doors
but now shall put
myself at stop!
Nobody reads
a poem that is
too long.
